It was just a question!

In one of our lunch clubs this half-term, we've encouraged students to write down questions anonymously for the rest of the group to answer. In the first week, the questions included these three:

How do I deal with people talking about my past relationships?

How do I deal with stress about my exams?

What do I do if I hate my life?

The advice given from the students was breathtaking. Folks, our young people are overflowing with wisdom well beyond their years and I never fail to learn things from them. During our time together, we were able to work through each question and deliver well-rounded advice to the young questioners. Being anonymous, it's a struggle to find out how things are going just yet - but we weren't expecting such big question to begin with! However, we will find ways to dig a little deeper, encourage students to come forward and create opportunities for them to chat with staff in confidence.

More questions will follow in the coming week and I can't wait to see these young people grow closer as friends and share deeper conversations. And of course, we will ensure there are ample opportunities for young people to chat with professionals in confidence about significant issues in their lives.

John 14:6 - I am the Way, the Truth and the Life

(and the answer to all of life's questions!)
