We've just nailed Session Two of Man Up (a six-week self-esteem course) at Alec Hunter. Man Up is going extremely well and today's session saw some amazing heart-to-hearts between the lads.
The premise is pretty simple: we go on a journey together through the course, stopping at various 'destinations' which are symptomatic of low self-esteem; by the time we reach our destination at Session Six, the lads will look back at how far they've come and have a healthy arsenal of strategies to use in maintaining their newly-found confidence level.
Today's session focused specifically on our interaction with others; some students shared how they felt quite alone in school, and it was a blessing to see the others students offering advice and reassurance. They are gelling well as a group, so we're keen to see what Sessions Three to Six have in store..!
Please do pray for the success of Man Up and that each young person will appreciate the value of being truthful in their emotions. In short, pray that they will Man up about Manning Up!
