Sheena reports on this exciting season about to hit us in schools...
"It's time to celebrate the HARVEST! For me it always brings back the memory of our Church Harvest Supper and my mum dressed up as one of The Wurzles to perform ‘I’ve Got A Brand New Combine Harvester’, it was great! (Sorry mum but it is a great memory!).
Harvest is always celebrated in the primary schools and is a good opportunity to take in an RE-based lesson, sometimes exploring the line in The Lord’s Prayer, ‘Give us today our daily bread’, sometimes looking at one of Jesus’ parables such as the Friend at Midnight or The Great Banquet. Whatever our focus is, let’s all remember to be thankful for what we have and continuously look to how we can help those less fortunate than ourselves."
